CSV Import

You can import inventory item definitions from a CSV file via the “Import Inventory Items…” command in the File > Import menu. The CSV file needs to be saved using UTF-8 character encoding. The first row of your file corresponds to the header row.

You can specify what column in your CSV file is mapped to what inventory field in GarageSale:

The following fields can be imported from CSV files:

• title
• sku
• price
• quantity
• cost
• barcode
• description
• location

Instead of importing you can also instruct GarageSale to just update existing inventory items from the data in the CSV file based on the SKU. To do this just select the “Update records with same SKU” checkbox.

Save and Restore your CSV Configuration

Field configurations in the “Import CSV File” panel can be saved and restored. This way you don’t have to re-do your configurations again and again.

• To save your configuration, click on the gear icon and select “Save As Preset”. Give your configuration a meaningful name.
• You can restore your configuration by selecting the saved preset from the gear menu.
